How to make bill paying easier with online bill payment options

Since the onset of digitalisation, many tasks have become easy and effortless for all of us. Gone are the days when people used to go out for almost every single task. But now, if you have an internet-enabled smartphone, you are the king! Well, this is because, for example, an online electricity bill payment takes 15 seconds while an offline one definitely takes a lot more than that.

It is a well-known fact that the penetration of smartphones has witnessed a rise in recent years due to the easy availability of the internet. This has ultimately led to instant and cashless payments, contributing immensely to the ‘Digital India’ revolution. For example, a simple credit card bill payment can be made with just a few taps instead of travelling to your financial institution.

What are online payments?

Online payments are payments that are done over the internet for goods or services purchased either online or offline. One of the most common methods to facilitate this is UPI (Unified Payment Interface).

UPI is a real-time payment platform produced by the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) that supports online money transfers between bank accounts via a single application.

However, to make it simple for all the readers, you all might be using different applications for different kinds of payments. But I’ll honestly tell you that for the past three and a half months, I have been using a single application, i.e. the Bajaj Finserv application, which has let me delete all the other applications. It has become my go-to app for all kinds of payments.

What are the benefits of online payments?

From property tax online payment to even payment of income tax, online payments tend to save a lot of your time, money, fuel, and energy. This is because it’s just you and your smartphone, and you don’t have to worry about going anywhere. Furthermore, not only this but cashback and rewards are another factor that has led to an increase in online payments across the globe.

  • Cashback and Rewards

Online payments have witnessed a rise in recent years and are going to boom because rewards are attached to them. From cashback to coupon codes, you are rewarded almost every time you make payment.

  • Round-the-clock availability

With online payment, I don’t have to go to a place at a particular time to deposit my smartphone bill, as I now make my airtel bill payment via the Bajaj Finserv app at any time. This is one of the significant benefits of online payments.

  • Contactless

One of online bill payment’s most underrated features is that it is contactless. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, digital transactions have seen an upsurge in avoiding contact while exchanging money.

Trust me, once you adapt to online payments, there is no going back due to the comfort and easiness that comes with it. All-in-all, online payments are one of the most convenient ways to make any payment, and from small to big retailers, everyone is promoting it.

Moreover, a decade ago, nobody thought that income tax online payment would ever be possible, but hats off to the government, which made such facilities possible.
